It may be "vintage," but it's still on my iPod...

It knocked me over, like a bolt out of the blue. Unexpected, those pangs of nostalgia and memories of yesteryear, the time that has since slipped past...

... Sugar Ray's "Every Morning" is now a Hot 89.9 "Vintage Cut." I haven't been this affected and verklempt since the classic rock station began playing Nirvana.

Heh. Okay, maybe I'm not quite that affected, but wow. A vintage tune already. What's next? Smashmouth? Don't answer that.

It's Thursday afternoon and I'm enjoying a quiet moment or two, sitting here in my living room and relaxing with a cup of coffee, Pico asleep on the floor beside me. The start of this week saw me visiting the Bay area for a couple of days, staying just outside of San Jose. While I was there, I got to enjoy an evening with Jen and Adam, and checked out some of Santana Row. Not to take anything away from SoCal (cover your eyes, Kell!), but NoCal is gorgeous.

The rest of this week has been and will be pretty busy, as we're now just two days away from Karen and Aaron's wedding. I may be missing in action from my e-mail, etc., until Sunday or Monday. I must make sure to get a good night's sleep tonight, because the next two days are full steam ahead.

Big hugs and lots of love to everyone. I'll talk to you all soon. XO.

"It's a happening thing..." or, hooray for May!

It's May, and at least one person out there knows what that means... happy birthday month, Kell!

So yes, my birthday is this weekend... marking the end of what has been an absolutely amazing year, and the start of new and exciting things on a whole new level. The last five months of my life have been nothing short of awesome. I'm so grateful for all the new friends I've made, for continuing to be surrounded by and blessed with the love of family and friends, for all the experiences that I've had, the memories created, and for the opportunities that have opened up along the way.

Cinco de Mayo... last year, I spent it in California with some wonderful friends. This year, I'm lucky enough to be spending it with my best friend/"almost sister" Karen, and my "almost brother" Aaron. I'll also soon be headed out-of-town for a couple of days, for reasons I may or may not explain later on. ;) I feel so incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to be doing what I'm doing during those days, and am very thankful to all of those who have made it happen.

Once I get back, it's into full wedding mode, leading up to Karen and Aaron's wedding that weekend (a week and a half from now!). Hair appointments and dinners, music lists, bridal party manicure morning at the spa, rehearsal... and the beauty of the ceremony and celebration itself. I love you guys. I'm so honoured to be part of your day, and no matter where life takes me in this wide world of ours, you'll always be family -- my "sister" and "brother" forever. Mwah!

This week has been pretty busy too... so I'm feeling like Pico needs some puppy playtime, before it's bedtime. Happy May, everyone!
