I interrupt my regularly scheduled wow-have-I-been-busy blogging exile to bring you this news... for two reasons. One, because I want to remember this "first" -- actually feeling an earthquake (never felt any of the small quakes in Ottawa and wasn't in town during the one larger one we had while I lived there) -- and two, because anyone who hears about this on the news when they wake up and who knows where I live might be wondering about it!
So yes, reports are that it was magnitude 5.6, and I would have felt it at its strongest, given the epicenter. Any potential danger aside, it was actually pretty cool! I was out picking up a few things at Target when it happened. It's a bit strange because everyone stops in their tracks. You can feel the collective anticipation and wondering about how strong it's going to be, and how long the things going to be shaking for. It is one of those rare times that you're truly in the moment, I think, experiencing everything as it's happening, and fully aware.
I would write more but I'm running off of pure wired energy right now (been a busy week)... I should get some sleep! Love out to all of you.
Oh, and... hi everyone! Yes, I'm here, alive and well and happy... I've had some emails with friends expressing concern since I've been MIA in blog-land for, oh, over three months. Busy. Understatement of the millennium. I promise some more blog posts very soon, though!
