She writes:

Growing up as a Jennifer I obviously not only had the constant addition of my last initial to my name, but it had to be taken one step further. From late grade school to the end of high school I shared several classes with a girl who was not only one of my best friends, but had the same first (Jennifer), middle (the ever popular Marie), and first three letters of the last name (Sti-) as me. Any class that we were in forced the drop of our first names entirely and we were known by our last names.

I thought this was far enough, but a few years ago my dad remarried. The new wife's daughter's name? Jennifer. We not only share the same name, but we at various times have shared the same undergrad school, the same major, and the same job. We get around having two Jennifer's in an immediate family by having one of us (her) go by Jenny and the other (me) go by Jen exclusively. Presents around Christmas time have to be labeled very precisely.
Thanks for sharing your stories, Jen!

Have a Jennifer story? Email us!

Jennster's Jennifer story

Our first Jennifer story comes from Jennster -- remember to check out her website and blog. Jennster writes:

growing up, there were so many jenn-ifer's in my class, that we had to go by our first name and then our last initial. i was jenny b. which turned into jenny bee dot. LOL.. that's what i think i said my name was. jenny b dot. haha.

I'm sure there's a lot of us who can relate to that!
