Jen Stier's Jennifer stories
This weekend's Jennifer stories come from Jen Stier. She writes:Growing up as a Jennifer I obviously not only had the constant addition of my last initial to my name, but it had to be taken one step further. From late grade school to the end of high school I shared several classes with a girl who was not only one of my best friends, but had the same first (Jennifer), middle (the ever popular Marie), and first three letters of the last name (Sti-) as me. Any class that we were in forced the drop of our first names entirely and we were known by our last names. Thanks for sharing your stories, Jen!
I thought this was far enough, but a few years ago my dad remarried. The new wife's daughter's name? Jennifer. We not only share the same name, but we at various times have shared the same undergrad school, the same major, and the same job. We get around having two Jennifer's in an immediate family by having one of us (her) go by Jenny and the other (me) go by Jen exclusively. Presents around Christmas time have to be labeled very precisely.
